The NWDE is the largest single day dental trade show in Canada. NWDE includes scientific sessions as well as a wide range of exhibitors. In 2018 we had 162 booths and over 1800 dental professionals in attendance.

Overview: This course will be delivered in a combined lecture and hands-on format. Participants will examine and address both manual and automated sharpening techniques to achieve a positive sharpening outcome.
- Review of instrument design and sharpening stone options.
- Address obstacles to instrument sharpening and how to overcome them.
- Discuss 4 common sharpening errors and how to avoid them.
- Identify useful strategies for both manual and automated sharpenign (Sidekick) to achieve positive sharpening outcomes.
Bonnie Hoath is a University of Alberta dental hygiene graduate. She later completed her BDScDH at the University of British Columbia. Bonnie has practised clinical dental hygiene for over 30 years with most of her time spent in a specialized periodontal practice. Bonnie has also enjoyed teaching as part-time faculty in the UBC Graduate Periodontal Program. Through her company, Perio Dimensions, she has provided numerous lectures and hands-on workshops with a focus on enhancing skills for optimal patient care.
