This lecture will provide the most up-to-date information regarding the fascinating and emerging field of oral diagnosis in children. Using case presentation as the learning and discussion format, this session will cover the most common soft tissue lesions in infants, children and adolescents as well as radiographic lesions.
Objectives:
- Understand the importance of “building” a differential diagnosis based the clinical presentation of oral lesions.
- Learn the most common soft tissue lesions in infants, children and adolescents
- Learn the most updated treatment for some of the most common oral conditions besides gingivitis and dental caries
- Understand the importance of “building” a differential interpretation in radiology
- Learn the most common radiographic lesions in infants, children and adolescents.

Dr. Derek Mahony
This lecture will review common, complex and multi-factorial clinical scenarios of tooth impactions. Dr. Mahoney will discuss the latest advances in research and clinical practice, including developments in the periodontal outcome of surgically exposed impacted teeth. Dr Mahony has a series of simple protocols for routine cases to enable clinicians to develop their skills and improve their understanding of complex and rare presentations. If time permits Dr Mahony will review failure and impending failure, and provide insight into real life management of impacted teeth. Dentist role in Snoring and Sleep Apnea
Dentists can be one of the primary care providers for mild to moderate cases of constructive sleep apnea. This course will provide participants with:

- Incorporate the minimally invasive “Perimeter Prep” and other simple predictable patient friendly techniques for operative success with flowables
- Diagnose and evaluate perio treatment with a scientific medical approach
- Use lasers to keep perio in your practice and promote tissue repair and healing
Dr Fay Goldstep has lectured nationally and internationally on Proactive/Minimal Intervention Dentistry, Soft-Tissue Lasers, Electronic Caries Detection, Healing Dentistry and Innovations in Hygiene. She has served on the teaching faculties of the postgraduate programmes in Aesthetic Dentistry at SUNY Buffalo, University of Florida, University of Minnesota and University of Missouri-Kansas City.
