Dr. Pommy Hallen

Lecture Synopsis

This intensive hands-on workshop reinforces the clinical principles from the lecture and online modules. Participants will perform a complete molar endodontic workflow using extracted teeth.

Hands-on exercises include:

  • Access cavity preparation and straight-line access
  • Orifice location with emphasis on MB2 identification
  • Establishing patency and glidepath development
  • Rotary instrumentation using Reciproc Blue
  • Irrigation protocols and canal disinfection
  • Obturation techniques for predictable sealing

The goal is to develop a structured, repeatable clinical workflow that can be directly applied in everyday endodontic practice.

Biography

Dr. Hallen graduated from the UBC School of Dentistry in 2002 and spent the first seven years of his career practicing general dentistry in his private practice in Langley, British Columbia, where he developed a strong clinical interest in endodontics.

Pursuing advanced specialty training, he completed his Certificate in Advanced Endodontics at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Since that time, Dr. Hallen has owned and operated multiple general and specialty endodontic practices across the Lower Mainland, bringing a broad perspective that bridges both general dentistry and specialist-level endodontic care.

He currently maintains specialty endodontic practices in Maple Ridge, South Surrey (White Rock), and North Surrey, British Columbia.

Dr. Hallen is a founding member of the BC Endo Solutions Study Club and has lectured extensively on endodontics at conferences and continuing education events throughout North America. He is a member of the British Columbia Society of Endodontists and the American Association of Endodontists, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.

His clinical and teaching approach is focused on practical, efficient, and predictable endodontic workflows designed to help clinicians improve outcomes and confidently manage endodontic cases in daily practice.

He is known for delivering highly practical, clinically relevant courses focused on making endodontics more efficient, predictable, and enjoyable in everyday practice.
